The Author of The Power and The Glory

Keith Errol Benson is one of a very few, award-winning, “super-mentors,” in the nation. He received the State of New Jersey’s highest award (the Gold Medal) for extraordinary success with young African American men, from Camden New Jersey.

Many have been accepted into the nation’s most prestigious colleges and universities. Several are working in New York’s financial industry, and in other professions. Almost all are culturally conscious contributors to society because they honor their History.

Keith understands from a life of tough experience that which Dr. James Loewen said: “Understanding History is essential to understanding oneself and the world around us.” History changes people’s view of themselves, the world around them, and their place in the world. History “elevates and illuminates the spirit.” The rest takes care of itself.

Keith was born and raised in Camden, New Jersey, himself. He grew up in a single-parent home (his mother remarried when he was 13). He became a professional musician at 12 and eventually became an RIAA Certified Gold and Platinum Record Award-winning musician, and Associate Film Producer. He is the only musician to have been a member of the top 2 iconic studio bands, in American Music History – Detroit, Motown’s “Funk Brothers” and Philadelphia International Record’s “MFSB.”
